Travelling from or arriving back from a country outside of Ireland's current 'Green List'? Please familiarise yourself with the Government's quarantine measures as you may have to reschedule your visit for a later time.

Please note that, in the current circumstances where Covid-19 remains a risk, your contact details may be shared with official Government of Ireland contact tracing parties who may, in the event of a confirmed Covid case being identified at our site, need to make contact with all persons potentially in close contact with the infected individual during their period here. Your data will not be retained for this purpose for longer than 21 days following your visit.

Due to space restrictions, the visit to Dublin Castle includes access to the State Apartments and Exhibitions ONLY. We are not offering any guided tours. Therefore, the Medieval Undercroft and Chapel Royal are not accessible during this time.

Entry to the exhibition, "Splendour and Scandal: The Office of Arms at Dublin Castle" is included in the self-guided ticket. If you wish to only visit the exhibition, please purchase an Exhibition ticket for €3.

The self-guided visit takes approx. 40 minutes. We have implemented timed entry for visitors and a quota of people per hour to spread the number of visitors safely throughout the day.

If you buy a ticket online, you will be asked to choose a timeslot. Please note that every guest, whether already in possession of an online ticket or not, will be asked to queue. This is the only way we can ensure that all visitors are informed about the health and safety measures in the State Apartments.

Online bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance. In the interest of safety, we cannot allow group visits. Any groups who purchase online tickets will be refused entry. If you have any queries regarding online tickets, please email dublincastle@opw.ie
